Coats, jackets, shawls–the list goes on and on, but at the end of the day it’s all about staying warm and looking good. Here’s what we have in store for you:
Leather trench:
Merging the classic trench coat with a pop of edginess, a leather trench coat can be dressed up or down depending on the right occasion. Lacquered leather material is very popular this year, so the shinier the better!
Pop of color
Let’s face it–when the weather gets cold, we live in our coats until spring. So let this be a sign: find a statement, brightly colored coat that will both keep you warm and serve as your signature look for those months that it’ll essentially be your second skin.
So, what color do you go with? Great question. For starters, having some basic knowledge of color theory is everything when it comes to fashion–and you don’t need to go to art school to gain a grasp on the fundamentals of complementary colors, etc. Our suggestion is to print out a color wheel to post by your closet, or schedule a personal color analysis session with Vard to learn about the hues and tones that work best for your skin tone, undertone, hair and eye colors.

My personal favorite style that’s made a resurgence this year–authentic shearling jackets can go for thousands of dollars, and yes they are 100% worth it (though many brands offer faux-shearling alternatives for a fraction of the price). Warm, trendy and giving a nod to 1970s style, shearling jackets in 2022 can come in natural, original colors or bright, non-traditional colors. I love rocking an oversized shearling jacket with boots–I feel unstoppable.
