VERI PERI: How to Style Pantone's 2022 Color of the Year
by Vard Mov
If you haven't heard of Very Peri yet, chances are you've seen it–Pantone's color of the year is a warm, muted purple with blueish undertones

Pantone describes Very Peri as a color that represents the modern moment–one of transition and transformation. After two years of social isolation, we are more online than ever, and Very Peri represents the futurism bubbling up in cultural tenets, such as Meta and AI.

So here's how you leverage this strange, interesting Color of The Year in your style:

Since monochrome has been so in lately, I would be remiss if I didn't start off with an all-Very Peri fit. What can I say, purple just goes with purple.
Knowing that yellow and orange are complementary to purple, you can give your already bold, modern look an additional ‘pop’.

Another route could be playing with purple’s analogous colors–namely, pinks and blues. Playing with these colors can create a more balanced look.

Darker versions of this color can be a bit intense (which can also be fun and bold, if that’s your speed), so you can rely on Very Peri’s lighter and more subtle washes, such as shades of lilac and lavender, if you are not feeling flashy.

Texturally, Very Peri pairs well with darker, more substantial pieces and materials. Think: blacks, leathers and velvets.

Most of all, have fun with it–Very Peri is a lovely, amusing shade and it looks great when the wearer knows that. If you want to share your look with the VARD/MOV community, tag @vard_mov for a repost.
