London Smart Casual Explained
by Vard Mov
Business casual or smart casual are defined by the type of look that is simultaneously sharp, put together and stylish at the same time–without appearing to be fully formal. If you're catching drinks after a day at the office, or you simply want to elevate your look, smart casual can lend a hand. London Smart Casual brings the particular brand of urban, European sophistication to the look, giving it a classic yet edgy vibe.

This style is characterized by pieces like long draping trenches, wool coats, or shirt collars that cutely peek out from a sweater neckline. Blazers–especially oversized, and styled more casually–are a trademark piece, and have been making a recent fashion resurgence (though we can thank all of the media surrounding the late and great fashion icon Princess Diana for that).
Remember: London Smart Casual is more elegant than preppy–it's mature, thoughtful and smart. Makeup looks are clean and subtle (think: the "no makeup" makeup look)–avoid heavy eye makeup, or bright colors besides a red lip.
While flowing skirts and straight- or wide-legged pants can be smart casual, the look tends to appear more put together when pieces are well-fitting. In that vein, bodysuits as opposed to shirts or blouses can be a lifesaver in achieving a smooth, fitted look–mid-drift or crumpled folds need not apply.

A staple hairstyle that almost anyone can do is the classic trendy pulled back bun with a slight middle part, or with exposed bangs, made famous by Bella Hadid. Jewelry tends to be more dainty, such as a pair of small chunky gold hoops or stackable simple rings.
